Belonging to a large family of ten, my head was always in the clouds. “You are always going against the grain!” my father would constantly remind me. To my siblings it was no surprise that I was to be the first to leave home at 18 to go into the Marine Corps. Being a leader who is Black and Mexican, wearing the “Alvarez” last name, was the proudest I have ever been of myself, and I became a martial arts instructor for the Corps.
I am currently training in the MFA Acting program at Academy of Art University after completing my BFA degree in Acting here. I am a two-time NXTUP fest nominee for Actress in a Drama, and am currently training also training as an on-camera host and filmmaker.
My indulgences are anime, meditating, and running. And of course, practicing martial arts.
