Joel Ochoa
Originally from Iowa, Joel moved to the Bay Area last year to pursue his MFA in Acting at the Academy! He currently holds his BA in Theatre with a minor in Communications from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. Joel has worked extensively on stage as well as screen with some favorite credits being CB in Dog Sees God, Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening, Cathy Hiatt in The Last Five Years, and originating the role of Jack in Boys. Joel was most recently seen gracing the stage in Macbeth at Marin County Shakespeare and can be seen this summer in SF Playhouse’s production of A Chorus Line.
When Joel is not performing, he loves reading, hiking, playing piano, and drinking iced vanilla lattes with oat milk (even though he probably doesn’t need the caffeine!). Joel also has an extensive background in working with kids of all ages as an Educational Director for Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre and as a Camp Counselor for five summers.
