Tommy Harkness

Tommy Harkness was born and raised in the Bay Area. He currently lives in the Mission district of San Francisco and is working towards an MFA in Acting at the Academy of Art University. Tommy is a multi-faceted artist - he acts, directs, writes for the screen and stage, creates electronic music and is an abstract painter. In recognition of his work, he has been nominated five times for Best Actor at NXTUPfest (2020-23). As a writer/director, his short films Infinite Color and Devil in the Dark were named finalists in the Lift-Off Online Film Festival (2018 & 2019) and his latest film After Midnight was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay at NXTUPfest (2023). As a painter, he has had his work regularly exhibited across San Francisco, including an exclusive show at Laszlo/Foreign Cinema in October of 2022.
