Savannah Hou

I was inspired by poem “Ode to the Lotus Flower” by Zhou Dunyi, an ancient Chinese Poet of the Song Dynasty, which expresses the images and qualities of the lotus and celebrates its steadfast character, thus expressing the author’s noble character and spontaneity. In the present society forced by environmental pressure, i expressed the expectation to follow my heart like the lotus flower.
My undergraduate study in Fashion Design at Academy of Art University not only introduced me to the creative industry with an essential foundation in sketching, draping, patternmaking, computer-aided design, and sewing techniques, but also honed my skills on advanced technologies such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Gerber PLM. During my time in the university, I developed a skill set of teamwork and presentation through various design projects, cultivated unique aesthetic tastes by visiting hundreds of buyers’ store, and maintained fashion acumen by keeping up with the newest fashion trends.
