The interior architecture and design program gave me extensive knowledge involving creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces within buildings. We covered lots of elements such as spatial planning, technical aspects, color schemes, furniture selection, lighting design, and specifications.
I have learned about different design styles, such as Minimalist, Art Deco, Beaux-arts, Victorian, and many more as well as the principles of design, such as balance, proportion, harmony, and rhythm.
Furthermore, I learned the growing importance of sustainable design practices in the field encompasses a wide range of industries, from residential and commercial design to hospitality and healthcare design. Learning in-depth about environmentally friendly materials, energy-efficient systems, and other green design strategies has been an amazing experience for me personally.
This has been an amazing journey and I would like to give a special shout-out to the professors, especially Tom Collom and Kathleen Roche who guided me in my design journey that helped me in creating interesting spaces by following a design process. That gave me the confidence in the professional world to provide ideas and suggestions for floor plan layouts, concept development, furniture arrangements, and color palettes.
