Annie Blumenstein
I have always been an enthusiastic, open-minded, individual who tries to see the glass half full. At the age of nine, my family took our first trip to Universal Studios Hollywoord theme park. I owe my passion for directing to the actor dressed as Norman Bates, who snuck up on the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park tram where I was sitting and and swung his prop knife toward my face. I was nine-years-old. I never felt such fear in my life then, and now.
Once my parents managed to calm me down, and I managed to understand that the sets of some of my favorite films were fake, what appeared to be a thunderbolt of lightening electrified my body. I had found my calling: making films was what I was going to growing up.
Which brings me to the present. I like to play in multiple genre sandboxes. The "New Girl" and "Office" marathon sitcoms my family used to watch, inspired me to write and direct, "You, Me, and Manny," My love of romantic dramas - some with unhappy endings - led me to direct, "Life Under the Stars," and "The Electric Bill,"
My plan is to take Hollywood by storm when I graduate and move to Los Angeles.
